Identifying
Acoustic Neuroma Tumors
Acoustic neuroma tumors that a patient may have It’s very important to recognize whether a patient has an acoustic neuroma or another type of brain tumor. It's also very important to know the size of an acoustic neuroma. In general, the smaller the acoustic neuroma, the better the chance of having a good outcome following treatment. Since acoustic neuromas are benign, they do not need to be completely destroyed. Simply stopping their growth may be the goal of treatment. Stopping tumor growth without actually opening the brain and removing the tumor by surgery can be accomplished by radiation treatment in many patients.
