Pittsburgh Gamma Knife

     The University of Pittsburgh is an international center of excellence for gamma knife treatment of acoustic neuromas.

The main physician is Douglas Kondziolka, MD, at the Center for Image-Guided Neurosurgery, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Presbyterian Hospital.

The University of Pittsburgh can be considered a center of excellence for acoustic neuromas because they have two gamma knives in full-time operation and are acquiring a third. They are probably the busiest gamma knife center in the world. They also have an outstanding history of publishing about gamma knife treatment of acoustic neuromas, as can be seen below:
